Dr. Nicole Stassen was just elected as the President-Elect of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
Nicole is a Trauma surgeon at University of Rochester, and has been involved in EAST for several years, currently completing her term as Chairman of the the Careers in Trauma commttee.
Nicole was also one of the first residents from the University of Chicago who rotated at Cook County for Trauma. This exposure to trauma helped her solidify her career choice and she selected a fellowship in Louisville for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
Nicole will lead the organization during its 2016-2017 year.
