Treatment of traumatic brain injury continues to evolve. We have seen some successes with the use of amantadine in the Trauma and Neurosurgery populations. There is now new literature exploring the treatment of TBI patients through biologics. Preliminary reviews suggest some promise in the continuing research and trials of these agents.
I have recently uploaded 2 articles to the dropbox.com website associated with the Trauma blog to make available to anyone interested in learning more about the uses of vitamin D and choline in TBI patients. In particular, the vitamin D article is described as used in conjunction with IV progesterone therapy.
